Creating a BioSig Assignment and Setting Module Requirements
Updated onArticleIn order for BioSig-ID to be successful, you will need to create a Canvas assignment using the external tool and require modules to be checking the students' ID validation in order to "unlock" an assessment.
For a 16-week or 14-week course, 3-5 BioSig-ID assignments is recommended:
- Place a BioSig-ID enrollment assignment in your Week 1/Course Orientation module to allow students to first create their BioSig-ID password (this can serve as your Smart Start attendance verification activity);
- Place one verification assignment in front of a low-stakes assignment early in the course to give students the opportunity to practice using the tool and work out any technical issues ahead of time; and
- Place 2-3 more verification assignments in front of higher-stakes assessments—spaced out evenly over the course of the term—to help them remember the BioSig-ID password they've created.
For courses that are 8 weeks or shorter, it is recommended the tool be used 2-3 times maximum: once for enrollment/Smart Start attendance verification, and again to unlock your major assessment(s).

Accessibility for BioSig-ID
Updated onArticleBioSig-ID is designed to be accessible to all individuals with a wide-range of disabilities.
In order to use this ID validation tool with Canvas, students must first enroll their BioSig-ID as the primary password, followed by their Click-ID as the secondary password. The passwords they create will then be used for each BioSig-ID verification assignment they complete in courses offered by the five Alamo Colleges.

Accessing the Turnitin Similarity and Feedback Reports
Updated onArticleTurnitin provides a similarity report letting your instructor know how much of your assignment matches content within the Turnitin databases. Depending on the Turnitin settings, set by your instructor, after you have submitted your assignment, you may be able to view Turnitin results immediately or after the due date. Your instructor also has the option to restrict the similarity report from being shown for your assignment. If the originality report does not appear in the assignment submission details, your instructor has restricted this feature.

Batch Uploading Papers to Turnitin.com
Updated onArticleOccasionally, you may wish to either upload 1 or 2 papers directly to Turnitin, or perhaps the submissions from your entire class. If a student attempted to submit their paper through the Canvas Integration but ran into issues, you can login to turnitin.com and directly submit the assignment for your student. Or, perhaps you are not using the Canvas Turnitin Integration, but would still like to check papers for plagiarism. You can download all submissions from Canvas and upload those directly to Turnitin.
If you want to batch (or individually) upload student papers to Turnitin, and you did NOT use the Turnitin option in Canvas, you will need to follow all of the steps below. If you have already created the assignment in Canvas that has the Turnitin integration enabled, you may skip to Step 4:
