Panopto requires access to your screen, video, and audio settings in order to enable you to record videos and use screen sharing capabilities.
Normally when you download Panopto, you allow access, however sometimes the option may not be given or perhaps overlooked. Therefore, you must go into your computer settings to allow.
In this guide we will go over how to enable Panopto permissions on Windows and Mac systems.
When you download Panopto Recorder to Windows desktop, it should ask you for permissions, however if you missed them, you can ensure all permissions are enabled in system settings.
Select the Windows logo in the task bar and click Settings.
Choose Privacy & Security settings and scroll down to App permissions.
Check Camera & Microphone permissions.
Let desktop apps access your camera. Switch the toggle On.
Let desktop apps access your microphone. Switch the toggle On.
Scroll down to Screenshots and apps.
Let apps & desktop apps take screenshots of various windows and displays. Switch the toggle On.
Success! Now you know how to enable audio, video, and screenshot permissions on your Windows device.

Select Privacy & Security > Check Microphone, Camera, and Screen Recording settings.

Allow Panopto to access your microphone by switching the toggle on.
Enter your computer password to make the change.
Click Modify Settings.
Success! You have officially enabled app permissions on your Mac.
