
This guide walks you through the creation and customization of Showcase Portfolios—personal, flexible spaces for student to tell their academic, professional, or personal stories.
Showcase Portfolios helps you to tell your own stories and highlight growth beyond the classroom.
- Enables you to build personalized portfolios organized by theme, experience, or timeline.
- Support multiple evidence types, including Canvas submissions, media uploads, and reflections.
- Let you use tags to emphasize competencies and themes, aligning their work with personal or professional goals.
- Offer export options as PDF or HTML, and allow bulk downloading of uploaded portfolio files.
- Facilitate external sharing through public links or direct publishing to LinkedIn.
Start a new Showcase Portfolio.
1.Navigate to Portfolios from the global navigation bar or course navigation menu.
2.Click Create Showcase Portfolio.
Customize your portfolio.
3.Add a title that reflects your story or theme.
4.Upload a cover image to personalize your portfolio.
5.Write a description to introduce yourself or explain the purpose of the portfolio.
Add evidence to tell your story.
6.You can include Canvas Assignments from your Canvas courses
7.Create new evidence from scratch, select (projects, extracurricular activity, professional experience).

8.In the Evidence Details window, include the following, select Create:
A. Title: Give each piece of evidence a clear and meaningful title to help contextualize your work.
B. Text entries: Write essays, project summaries, or detailed descriptions of your work.
C. Tags: Add tags to highlight key skills, themes, or areas of focus (e.g., Critical Thinking, Research, UI Design).
D. Reflections: Share insights about your learning journey, personal growth, or skill development.
Uploaded files and media: Include images, PDFs, audio, and video files (each up to 25MB).

Organize your content with sections.
9.Create sections to group related evidence (e.g., “Academic Work,” “Professional Projects,” “Leadership & Activities”).
You can structure your sections by theme, timeline, or personal relevance.

Review and refine.
Review the flow of your portfolio.
Ensure your story is clear and visually engaging.
Edit or rearrange sections as needed for coherence.
