Migrate: Export a Classic Quiz/Import as New Quiz

In this option you must export each quiz from the course individually and then import each QTI export file into a new quiz in the new quiz tool.

Step 1:Export Each Quiz from the Current Quiz Tool

8 STEPS

1. The first step is to open Canvas Course and click Settings.

2. Click Export Course Content.

3. Click Quiz.

Step 3 image

4. Click All Quizzes.

Step 4 image

5. Click US History Quiz.

Step 5 image

6. Click Create Export.

Step 6 image

7. Click QTI Export from 3 hours ago.

8. That's it. You're done.

Step 2: Create a New Quiz in the New Quiz Tool

Go to the assignment page and create a new quiz. Important Note: You can only import a QTI file in new quiz that has no content.

14 STEPS

1. The first step is to open Canvas Course and click Quizzes.

2. Click Add Quiz.

3. Click New Quizzes.

4. Click Submit.

5. Type Assignment Name.

6. Type Points.

Step 6 image

7. Click Assignments.

8. Select Assignments.

9. Click Points.

Step 9 image

10. Select Points.

11. Click Save & Publish.

12. Click Demonstration Quiz.

Step 12 image

13. Click Build.

14. That's it. You're done.

Step 3: Import QTI File in the New Quiz

In the new quiz tool click the option menu ( 3 dots) in upper right corner of the screen and select Import Content. Follow the guide for instructions.

1. The first step is to open Canvas Course and click Quizzes.

5. Type Assignment Name.

6. Click Save & Publish.

7. Click Assessment Title.

8. Click Build.

9. Click More Quiz Actions.

10. Click Import Content.

11. Click Browse.

12. Click Import.

13. Click Done.

14. That's it. You're done.
