Uploading videos or audio files to Panopto is simple. Whether you have videos and audio files from another site or downloaded to your computer, you can upload them into Panopto and add them to your playlist or folder.
In this guide, you will learn how to upload videos and audio files to Panopto directly from your computer.

Note: While this guide shows you how to upload video files, the same method will also work for audio files.
1. Open Panopto Course Videos through Canvas, or directly through alamo.hosted.panopto.com.
2. Once logged in, select + Create.
3. Choose to Upload Media.
4. You will be asked which folder to add files to, then you may upload your video or audio file.
5. Select a folder to upload the file. If you are familiar with using Panopto folders, then choose the folder that best suits your needs. If you aren't sure what folder to upload the file to, or if you haven't created any folders yet, then select My Folder. Learn more about how to use "My Folder" and how to create new folders in Panopto.
6. To add files, you simply drag and drop them here from your desktop, or click Choose video or audio files to search for one on your computer.
7. Let the file process, and when uploading is complete, you can close the window.
8. If you uploaded the video to My Folder, or a different folder, then select the folder you uploaded to, and see if your video has finished processing.
9. Once the video has stopped processing, you can refresh the screen to see the thumbnail.
Also, you can rename the video file since sometimes Panopto might change the title.
Hover the cursor over the thumbnail and select the Video Settings icon.
10. Select Edit under Name.
11. Type in the correct video name of your choosing.
Click Save.
Note: You can also change the folder the video is located in here and the video thumbnail (preview image).
That's it! Now you can upload all of your video and audio files right from your device into Panopto to keep your important lectures, presentations, and more all in one place.
